Internal conversion accompanied by ionization: inclusion of inner-shell effects

Description
General expressions are obtained which allow a description of the ionization which accompanies internal conversion, including inner-shell effects. Final-state interactions are included in the first nonvanishing approximation. A specific calculation is carried out for L and M conversion in a thulium atom; this calculation has practical application with regard to an experiment being conducted at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics to measure the mass of the neutrino
