Similar parameters of diffusion alloying of metallic articles

Description
An effort has been made to use the theory of similarity as applies to the chemical heat treatment of finished components or semi-finished products in order to ensure a wider acceptance range for the diffusional alloying to cover components of other sizes and to achieve a shorter laboratory-commercial process route. Interstitial-sensitive molybdenum and niobium alloys were selected for the treatment using similarity rules. The regimes and results of the treatment are given. The typical regimes of heavy chemical heat treatment have been shown to be determined by two similarity criteria: The diffusional and kinetic ones. The commercialized regimes of the chemical heat treatment of specific components can be extended for geometrically similar products using the obtained charts and relations
