Description
X-ray spectra produced when 8.5 MeV amu-1 Fe, Kr and Nb ions are excited in collisions with a graphite target are reported. X-ray transitions originating in one-, two-and three-electron ions are observed and used to test the accuracy of theoretical x-ray energy calculations. The production probabilities for Li-, He- and H-like ions were determined from the relative γ-ray line strengths and centroid line energies. (author)
