Reactions of oxidation of trimethylphenols by cerium(4) in aqueous solutions of perchloric acid
Description
Effect of concentration of some reagents on the rate of 2,3,5-, 2,3,6- and 2,4,6-trimethylphenol oxidation by cerium (4) in aqueous solutions of the chloric acid using the potentiometric method has been determined. A scheme of the reaction is suggested, the possibility of methylbenzoquinone preparation is also pointed out; they are only intermediate products of the reactions investigated
