Governmental measures taken in the Law Concerning Prevention from Radiation Hazards due to Radio-isotopes, etc
Description
Having been enforced for about 18 years, the Law assumes increasing importance in recent years with the rise in the utilization of radioisotopes, etc. in Japan. With the intention of contributing to future administration in the field, the situation of governmental measures taken presently is described, after presenting the history of RI utilization in Japan. Guidance to the prevention of radiation injuries, collaboration among concerned governmental offices, promotion of own safety measures in enterprises and industries, the enterprises related to nondestructive tests, safety management in hospitals and educational institutions, RI theft prevention, public relation activities, and restudy of the Law.
