Comparison of unidentified absorption lines of quasar spectra with unidentified lines of stellar spectra

The paper considers the possibility of separating some of the unidentified lines in quasar spectra from the Lα forest by comparing them with unidentified lines of stellar spectra. In the case of the quasar 2,351-154 for the reliable absorption system with za = 2.6775 an excess is observed in the number of coincidences of the lines of the quasar spectrum and the lines of the spectrum of ξ Pup. Eight lines of the quasar spectrum that coincide with lines in the spectrum of ξPup have not hitherto been identified. 10 refs., 1 tab
