Leaching behavior of BAZ vitrified product in simulated interstitial clay-water and distilled water

Description

The results of static leaching test are reported for BAZ vitrified product in simulated interstitial clay-water (SIC) and distilled water (DW) at 90 deg C. The mass loss (ML) of BAZ was positive in value in DW, while negative in SIC. NL of some elements in SIC was significantly lower than that in DW. At 91th day, the ML value in SIC was - 1.0 g/m2, and 9.5 g/m2 in DW. Some vitrified matter consisting mainly of Ca, Sr and Fe was observed on the bottom of vessel containing DW leachant. A comparison between the leaching behavior of BAZ and BEL-15 vitrified products under the same condition was given
