Influence of component nature of extraction systems used for radionuclide isolation on interfacial tenson
Description
On the example of neutral organophosphorus extractant (TBP, TOPO) solution in n-dodecane - lithium nitrate weakly acid aqueous solution - plutonium nitrate (4) solution type systems general regularity found earlier while investigating similar uranyl and thorium nitrate systems is confirmed. The regularity lies in the fact that when binding nonassociated or weakly associated nucleophilic extractant into the solvate form with metal salt interfacial tension in the system is increased. The results obtained aso testify to the fact that if in solvate formation all hydrophilic groups of extractant molecule are bound with metal salt interfacial surface activity of the resultant compound is much lower than that of respective free extractant
