Absorption skin dose from deposited surface contaminants
Creators
Description
Relations between the absorbed skin dose from β and γ-radiation of some radionuclides dispersed by a thin homogeneous layer on the Earth surface and their mixtures are considered. Calculation formulae and results are presented. Sometimes the β-radiation dose Pβ in the surface tissues is shown to be considerably higher than the γ-radiation dose Pγ. For the mixture, corresponding to the LWGR core composition after three year operation, Pβ/Pγ ratio changes from 30 up to 70 in a month after release, and then reduces very slowly. P values calculated agree satisfactorily with experimental data
