Phase composition of products arising in an electric explosion of niobium and carbon mixtures

Description

Absent publication data on phase composition of products, arising in electric explosion of mixtures of niobium and carbon powders in water are presented. It was established that multiphase products including NbCxOy, Nb2CxOy, NbO, NbO2, Nb2O5, Nbx and C arose in electric explosion of mixtures of niobium (containing 0.12 mass% H) and graphite powders in water. The total amount of oxycarbide phases in product increases and oxide ones - decreases with carbon concentration growth in mixture. Lattice periods of prepared oxycrabides increase at that; this testifies to elevation of carbon concentration in them
