Effect of compressibility on the vortex turbulence spectrum

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kharkov. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

The effect of compressibility on the vortex component of turbulence is considered for small Mach numbers M<=1. To define the character of spectrum dependence on Mach number, the continuity equation is used taking into account the flow nonpreservation. The expression for spectrum automodelity has been recorded. The violation of kolmogorov automodelity occurs due to the dependence of Esub(K) on Mach number, where Esub(K) is the energy density in the space of wave numbers K. The explicit expression has been obtained for vortex energy spectrum in the liquid being compressed for M2<=1. The s ectrum of vort es for 0<=M<ic is in the interval Ksup(-/3)-Ksup(-2); for M approximately 1, Esub(K) approximately K-2
