New evidence for a universal collective correlation term for like-sign particles in multiple production
Description
New data on multiplicity distributions in 3-dimensional phase-space bins are analyzed with respect to the existence of a correlation term which increases power-like with inverse bin volume. Such a term is shown to dominate two-particle correlations for like-sign particles. Both the slope and normalization appear quite universal, suggesting a common origin and universal features of an underlying mechanism, probably the Bose-Einstein interference. (orig.)
