Energy supply the 4th quarter and the whole years 2003 and 2004. Preliminary data
Description
During the last quarter 2004 the energy consumption was unchanged in comparison with the same period 2003. The use of energy in industry- and transport sector increased while the use in the household sector decreased. During the year 2004 the energy consumption increased by 5.2 PJ. It is only the transport sector that increases, but only by 3.5 per cent. The use of oil within the household sector decreases by 22.6 per cent, or by 22.5 PJ compared to the year 2003. The year 2004 the production of electric energy from nuclear power increased by 15.0 per cent and the last quarter showed an increased production by 16.5 per cent in comparison with the same quarter 2003. This production is the highest ever. Hydro and wind also increases. If you look at all energy carriers the gross supply of energy is slightly higher in 2004 compared by 2003, 2,323.1 PJ in year 2004 and 2,239.9 PJ in year 2003. For the 4th quarter 2004 the gross supply of energy goes up by approximately 4.3 per cent. The largest rise is shown for hydro which increases from 55.6 PJ to 66.7 PJ
