Description

This paper describes the results of several seismic probabilistic risk assessments (PRAs) and margin studies, the engineering insights gained form them, and the impact of these studies on the regulatory decision-making process. Two case studies are discussed demonstrating considerations of deterministic and probabilistic concepts in the licensing process. Further possible regulatory uses of PRAs and margin studies are also discussed. (author)
