Description
The authors describe the laser cooling of the 9Be beam of the Heidelberg Test Storage Ring (TSR) by which they hope to achieve an ion current of 5 μA with an initial momentum spread of Δp/p=10-4. For the laser cooling the 2s2S1/2-2p2P1/2 transition at 313 nm is used. (HSI)
