Radon gas testing in Kentucky schools
Creators
Description
This paper examines the radon gas levels and related mechanisms in elementary, middle, high and special schools. The project consists of approximately 4,000 screening measurement data points on 155 sites in central Kentucky. The primary instruments utilized consist of short-term electret ion chambers with open-face design AC canisters and ionization probe CRMs as cross-checking devices. Due to political, operational and financial considerations, this program was mandated to be initiated and completed in summer, 1989. Modifications and specific concerns were addressed, in order to adhere as closely as possible to EPAs Interim Guidelines for school testing
