Aerosol behaviour calculations performed with the CONTAIN code in comparison to PARDISEKO calculations and to experiments

  • 1. Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe G.m.b.H. (Germany, F.R.). Lab. fuer Aerosolphysik und Filtertechnik 1

Description

The computer code CONTAIN has been developed at Sandia National Laboratory to analyze nuclear reactor accidents. Aerosol behaviour calculations in CONTAIN are based on the MAEROS code. Using the version 02, we performed CONTAIN calculations for sodium fire aerosols as well as for metallic sodium droplets in closed vessels. The computed aerosol mass concentrations and aerodynamic mass medium diameters were compared with other aerosol codes, especially PARDISEKO and with experiments. (author)
