Study on plasma waves at Vega space probes

Description

Preliminary results of experimental studies of low-frequency plasma waves at Vega space probe are presented. In course of experiment the following investigations were carried out. Study of plasma collective processes responsible for formation of fine structures in the range of solar wind - cometary atmosphere interaction and for dissipation of solar wind energy in this region. Determination of cometary atmosphere anomalous ionization in presence of magnetized solar wind and identification of ionization mechanisms. Diagnosis of solar wind plasma and cometary ionosphere by measuring characteristic boundaries in plasma envelope of the comet
