Stability constants of chelates of 2-aroylthianaphthenones with some lanthanides(III)
Description
Acid dissociation constants of four 2-(p-substituted benzoyl)thianaphthenones have been determined potentiometrically in 50 per cent (v/v) dioxan-water at 25degC and ionic strength =0.1 M. The stability constants of their 1:1 and 2:1 chelates formed with six trivalent lanthanide ions have also been determined. The effects of substituents in the ligands as well as the atomic numbers of the lanthanide ions on the equilibria are discussed. (author)
