Encapsulation of 241Am sources for the use in medical equipment
Description
A process of encapsulation of radioactive 241Am sources for use in medical equipment, by TIG (Tungsten-Inert-Gas) welding of stainless steel liners, was developed. The process includes edge-weld design, the use of an under-pressure jar, and the use of turntable positioners, jigs, fixtures, and heat sinks. (author)
