Thermohydraulic investigations on liquid metal target systems

Description

Report is devoted to calculation study of thermohydraulics of liquid-metal targets (LMT) of accelerator-driven systems for transmutation of nuclear waste. The prime object is to ensure availability of information to design LMT with the optimal cooling of windows. One applied the FIDAP program based on the finite element method. The maximum temperature inside LMT is shown to be less than 400 deg C at the optimal structure of a window

Abstract (Russian)

Цель доклада - расчетные исследования термогидравлики жидкометаллических мишеней (ЖМТ) ускорительно-управляемых систем для трансмутаций ядерных отходов. Основная задача - обеспечение информации для разработки ЖМТ с оптимальным охлаждением окон. Использовалась программа FIDAP, основанная на методе конечных элементов. Показано, что при оптимальной конструкции окна максимальная температура в ЖМТ будет ниже 400 град С
