TLD dose measurements in the MIR Space Station
Description
The results of investigation conducted in the framework of DOZA-B experiment during the second Soviet-Bulgarian space flight (7-17 June 1988) are discussed. The dosimetric part of the experiment involved the use of seven dosimetric assemblies equipped with internal dosimeters. Each one of them included an ionization chamber and 68 thermoluminescent dosimeters: TLD-600, TLD-700, TLD-200, MTS-N and TL-glasses. Findings indicated: 1) the average dose rate in the working part of the station amounted to 290 ± 15 μGy/24 hours; 2) field nonuniformity did not exceed the value 1.6; 3) thermal neutron contribution to absorbed dose did not exceed 1/150 of recorded values; 4) the contribution of 0.2 MeV photon radiation to absorbed dose constituted no more than 7-8%.
