Description
The interaction of molybdenum diiodide with sulfur in vacuum while heating up to 500 deg C is studied. It is found that at 350 deg C MoS2I2 compound is formed; the compound is isostructural to its chlorine and bromine analogue and is crystallized in the lattice of NbS2Cl2 type with parameters a=6.57; b=11.13; c=7.57 A; β=126.2 deg
