Description

Molten salt electrorefining based pyroprocess flow sheet is ideally suited for reprocessing U-Pu- Zr alloy fuels from fast breeder reactors than the the aqueous reprocessing being used for the carbide and oxide fuels from thermal and fast reactors. Studies on pyrochemical process flow sheet are in progress at IGCAR with a view to develop the flow sheet for treating the metal fuels from future FBRs. The present report describes the electrochemical behaviour of U-Pu-Zr alloy in LiCl-KCl-PuCl3 eutectic at cadmium electrode. (author)
