Collective periodic orbits in a model nucleus

Creators

  • 1. Center for Theoretical Physics, Laboratory for Nuclear Science and Department of Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139 (United States)

Description

Periodic orbit families are calculated for a one-dimensional nuclear model in the mean field approximation. Phase space is 20-dimensional. The essential element which makes the calculation possible is the fact that the two conservation laws (probability and energy) are still exactly satisfied after the discretization of the equations of motion. copyright 1995 American Institute of Physics
