Description
In the scope of the nuclear power plants lifetime evaluation, the different damage mechanisms of the plant units or materials, are investigated. The study includes the materials aging under the effect of temperature or neutrons, and mechanical stresses. The erosion-corrosion or corrosion problems are not considered. The work leads to the following conclusions: the manager, warned by the oldest unit accidents, is induced to carry out the reexamination of some of the plant units, to avoid exploitation problems; the difficulties are related to a fast aging or the need to take into account in the materials fabrication, loads or stresses which are not well known; inspection renewal is effectuated under a lifetime extension project; and that the decenial checkout, which allows the observation of the most sensitive zones and the required changements, are essential
Abstract (French)
Dans le cadre de l'etude du vieillissement des centrales nucleaires, les differents mecanismes d'endommagement des composants ou des materiaux qui les constituent, sont presentes. L'etude englobe le vieillissement des materiaux sous l'effet de la temperature ou des neutrons et, egalement, l'effet des sollicitations plus mecaniques. Les phenomenes d'erosion-corrosion ou de corrosion ne sont pas consideres. L'etude montre que: alerte par des incidents survenus sur des tranches plus agees, l'exploitant est amene a reexaminer le comportement de certaines parties de ses installations en vue de prevenir des difficultes d'exploitation; ces difficultes sont essentiellement liees a des vieillissements prematures ou a la prise en compte de sollicitations ou chargements mal connus au niveau de la conception du materiel; le reexamen s'effectue dans le cadre d'un projet visant a prolonger le fonctionnement de l'installation; et que les visites de controle decennales, permettant l'examen de zones sensibles et eventuellement des modifications, sont indispensablesAdditional details
