The Δ mass splitting from πN partial-wave analyses
Creators

Description
Energy-dependent partial-wave analyses of the world pion-nucleon scattering data in the first resonance region are used to determine the Δ++ - Δ0 resonance pole mass difference. Using a K-matrix formalism, we find msub(++) - m0 = 0.9 +- 0.44 MeV. Quark models generally favour a negative value for the mass difference. (author)
