Description

Preparation and characterization of hot-pressed Na+ ion conducting nano-composite polymer electrolytes (NCPEs): (1-x) (70PEO:30NaClO4)+xSiO2, where x in wet.%, are reported. These NCPEs were casted by solvent-free/hot-press method. The composition dependent conductivity studies at room temperature revealed that the composition: 93 (70PEO: 30NaClO4) + 7 SiO2 has the highest conductivity (σ ~ 7.6 ×10-6 S.cm-1). This has been referred to as Optimum Conducting Composition (OCC). Materials characterization and polymer-salt complexation have been explained with the help of SEM, FTIR, DSC and TGA analysis.
