Description
A joint International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) -International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) team is nearing completion of a report on the main safety-related control and instrumentation issues for RBMK reactors which recommends short-and long-term measures which can considerably improve safety. The issues and measures were identified and assessed in the context of the international standards framework formulated by the two organisations. (author)
