Anomaly and quantum Hall effect

Creators

Description

This paper gives a brief review of axial anomaly in 4d. Quantum Electrodynamics, anomalous current in 3d Dirac theory, and their connection to quantum Hall effect are given. Spectral asymmetry of Dirac operators are origin of present anomaly. Proof of exactness of the quantum Hall effect based on Ward-Takahashi identity is also presented
