Pluto detector with cylindrical proportional chambers

Description

Specific features and performance of cylindrical argon-propane proportional chambers are described and parameters of a typical chamber are presented. The chambers are designed for a magnetic detector to be used to study reaction products from e+- or e-- collisions in the multi GeV region at the storage ring DORIS. Electronics and readout are shortly described. Efficiencies versus voltage and pulse amplitude are shown
