Description
The need for trained radiochemists and especially radiopharmaceutical chemists at the post-graduate level is evident as was recently determined by the National Academy of Sciences study on manpower needs in the nuclear field. An institute to train radiochemists is being established at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in collaboration with the TRIUMF Nuclear Research facility. A seven week lecture lab program will provide topics dealing with basic nuclear sciences and their application to the labelling of compounds of biological/medical interest. A description of this program and its current status will be presented
