Description
Kinetics of the compaction and growth of tungsten grains is studied under liquid-phase sintering of high-dispersed tungsten-copper composition with 20% of copper content. It is shown that compaction of the composition is accompanied by processes of diffusion accomodation of the refractory grains' shape during their growth and grain-boundary penetration of the liquid phase due to the inconsiderable solubility of tungsten in the liquid copper and a high level of capillary forces. It is established that under conditions of the complete separation of refractory grains by the second phase, compaction of the composition follows the mechanism of superductility. Regarding the tungsten grain growth kinetics during liquid-phase sintering under conditions of the superductile flow of the high-dispersed tungsten-copper composition it is possible to find a complete solution of the problem about sintering kinetics
