Radiocaesium in a group of adults resident in Oxfordshire and Berkshire

  • 1. National Radiological Protection Board, Chilton (UK)

Description

Body radioactivity measurements have been carried out since May 1986 on a small group of 10-25 adults resident in Oxfordshire and Berkshire with the aim of assessing the average dose to this population from intakes of radiocaesium as a result of the Chernobyl reactor accident. Trends in body content with time are presented and doses are evaluated and compared with early estimates based upon predictions of dietary contamination. (author)
