Description

The Konrad ore mine and the Gorleben salt dome are currently tested for their suitability as repositories for radioactive wastes in the Federal Republic of Germany. The existing Morsleben repository which has been in charge of Bundesamt fuer Strahlenschutz since the unification of Germany on October 3, 1990 is being improved and modernized at the same time. The report discusses the state of the Gorleben project, the problems which have been delaying the advanced Konrad licensing and planning procedures, and the future of the Morsleben repository. Abstract (German)

In der Bundesrepublik Deutschland werden zwei Standorte auf ihre Eignung fuer Errichtung und Betrieb von Endlagern fuer radioaktive Abfaelle untersucht. Weiterhin ging infolge der deutschen Einigung am 03. Oktober 1990 das sich in Betrieb befindliche Endlager Morsleben in der ehemaligen DDR in die Zustaendigkeit des Bundesamtes fuer Strahlenschutz ueber. Der Stand der Erkundung des Endlagerprojektes Gorleben sowie die Probleme im Rahmen des schon fortgeschrittenen Planfeststellungsverfahrens Konrad und des Weiterbetriebs des Endlagers Morsleben werden dargestellt.
