Extension of Stark spectroscopy to moderately dense hydrogen and helium plasmas
Creators
Description
Theory of ion shock broadening of hydrogen-like spectral lines is developed for plasma media with <1016 cm-3 electron concentration. Numeric results obtained for H2 allow one to eliminate the existing notable divergluces of previous theories with precision experiments. The present theoretic calculations agree well with resulting measured experimental profiles of HeII 164.0 nm lines. The results obtained allow one to apply the Stark methods of measuring such parameters as ion concentration and temperature to moderate density plasma
