Design of broadly tuned FIR FEL based on a variable-period microwiggler

Description
A varible-period microwiggler is proposed and investigated. The fundamental period of the microwiggler is designed as λo=2mm, and the period of the microwiggler can be turned from λo to nλo (n=1,2,3,hor-ellipsis) The wiggler fields with the period 3λo, 4λo, and 5λo are measured and compared with the theoretical results. Finally, a broadly tuned FIR FEL is designed based on the performance of the variable-period microwiggler
