Band-crossing frequencies of strongly populated bands in 174Ta

Description
High spin states in 174Ta were populated in the 160Gd(19F,5n)174Ta reaction with a beam energy of .87 MeV. A γ-γ coincidence experiment was performed using four HpGe-BGO Compton-suppressed spectrometers. The highest spins of the bands with configurations π5/2+[402] x v7/2+[633] and π1/2-[541] x v1/2-[521] could be pushed up to 21+ and 23+, and their first band-crossing frequencies were determined as 0.27 ± 0.01 MeV and >0.38 MeV, respectively.
