Description
This Order extends to Monserrat, with the exceptions, adaptations and modifications specified in the Schedule to the Order, certain provisions of the Nuclear Installations Act 1965, as amended. It is the 1965 Act which implements the provisions of the Paris Convention and the Brussels Supplementary Convention in the United Kingdom. The provisions so extended impose a duty on the nuclear operator to secure that no nuclear occurrence taking place within the territorial limits of Monserrat causes nuclear injury or damage, and relate to the right to compensation for breach of that duty, the bringing and satisfaction of claims and other matters. Le present Arrete met en application a Monserrat, avec les exceptions, les adaptations et les modifications prevues par son Annexe, certaines des dispositions de la Loi de 1965 sur les installations nucleaires, telle qu'elle a ete modifiee. La Loi de 1965 met en oeuvre au Royaume-Uni les dispositions de la Convention de Paris et de la Convention Complementaire de Bruxelles. Les dispositions en question font obligation a l'exploitant nucleaire de s'assurer qu'un evenement d'origine nucleaire qui survient dans les limites territoriales de Monserrat ne causera pas de dommages nucleaires; elles concernent les droits a reparation en cas du non respect de cette obligation, l'introduction de demandes en reparation et leur satisfaction, ainsi que d'autres questions
