Monitoring of gluconeogenesis in rats following chronic irradiation

Description
A dose dependent cumulation of liver glycogen with the maximum on the day 120 was observed as was an increased incorporation of 14C-alanine in liver glycogen (statistically nonsignificant changes). The contribution of 14C-acetate to gluconeogenesis was negligible. The results showed increased gluconeogenesis in rats following chronic gamma irradiation with small daily dose rates (0.0957 Gy)
