Wind energy in France
Creators
Description
The wind energy sector went through 2010 in a satisfactory manner while 2010 was expected to be difficult. Despite poor economical perspectives and drastic changes in financial incentives, the growth rate of wind energy in France kept its pace and allowed France to maintain its fourth place in Europe in terms of installed power behind Germany, Spain and Italy. The total installed power reached 5799 MW in France at the end of 2010 which means an increase of 1173 MW compared to last year. Enercon (23.6% - 825 wind turbines), Vestas (18.4% - 616 wind turbines), Repower (17.4% - 578 wind turbines) and Nordex (15.3% - 476 wind turbines) are the only manufacturers to get a 2 digits share of the French market).
