Phases in the Ta-Ga binary system
Description
The phase relationships in the Ta-Ga binary system were examined. X-ray analyses were carried out on powdered specimens whose compositions ranged from 0 to 90 at.% Ga. Only two intermetallic phases Ta5Ga3 and TaGa2 were observed. The previously reported phases Ta2Ga, Ta3Ga2 and TaGa3 were not detected. The existence of an oxygen-stabilized phase Ta5Ga3Osub(x), analogous to Nb5Ga3Osub(x), was observed. (Auth.)
