Description
The paper concerns the correlation between the lattice vibrational behaviour and the electronic behaviour of the high temperature superconducting compound Lasub(1.85)Basub(0.15)CuO4. Neutron inelastic scattering experiments using carefully prepared polycrystalline samples of both Lasub(1.85)Bsub(0.15)CuO4 and La2CuO4 were carried out at the High Energy Transfer spectrometer at the ISIS facility of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, U.K. The experiments were performed over a range of temperatures between 12K and 200K, and revealed an anomalous temperature dependence of modes centred at 10 meV and 20 meV respectively.
