Description

Privatisation of oil industry is undoubtedly necessary. So far, state ownership has nowhere shown any efficiency that would correspond to the private one. The decision of the Croatian Government dated June 30, 2000 about the energy sector reform and privatisation offers insight into the activities needed to prepare privatisation, limits misuse space but leaves open the possibilities for privatisation models. The privatisation of oil industry, apart from efficient capital management, raises additional questions, mainly of long-term interest: - supply reliability and safety, but following equal conditions. - danger of buying only markets, instead of buying business activities. - availability of scientific and technological solutions. The subject of this paper are possible, generally accepted models of privatisation that have either short-term or long-term influence. (author)
