Description

The estimation of concentration of airborne radon-thoron and their daughter products in 32 dwellings of different nature in Udagamandalam taluk of Nilgiris biosphere have been carried out using a high volume air sampler during summer period. The estimated radon and thoron progeny concentrations ranged from 0.97 mWL to 11.92 mWL and 0.89 mWL to 14.56 mWL with a geometric mean of 5.12 mWL and 6.27 mWL respectively. It has been observed that the thoron progeny level is higher than that of radon progeny level. (author)
