Beneficial effects of 764-1 on alveolar surfactant level in animal lungs irradiated in vivo and in vitro

Description
This paper reports that increased alveolar surfactant level can be detected early in mice of 739 strain and Wistar rats after X-irradiation of the lungs in vivo and in vitro, which is dose dependent between 8-17 Gy. Chinese traditional medicine 764-1 can reduce the increased surfactant level. These results suggest that irradiation of lung induceds primary injury of type 2 pneumocytes and 764-1 ameliorates this kind of radiation injury
