Description

Spin dependences of neutron and photon strength functions are investigated basing on the results of measurements of averaged through many resonances E1 primary transitions in 156 Gd at capture of filtered reactor neutrons with the mean energies of 1.9, 3.5, 45 and 58 keV. The spin independence of neutron strength function have been determined with the accuracy of 10%. The difference of the averaged partial radiative widths of E1 transitions to final states with different spins in 156 Gd have been found with the accuracy of 15-20%. It is concluded that the results obtained demonstrate the great capabilities of the averaged resonance capture method with the use of the filtered neutron beams produced in the setup developed at the VVR-M-Kiev reactor for the investigations of too small effects measurement of which by other methods and equipment are impossible. 10 refs., 3 figs
