A gas cell for Doppler-shift attenuation measurements up to 107 PA

Description
A cell suitable for Doppler-shift attenuation measurements in gas at high pressures is described. The variation of the gas density as a function of the beam current is studied for argon and krypton gases. Examples of lifetime measurements in the picosecond range are given. (orig.)
