Experimental study on the dynamics of processes in pulsed plasma centrifuge

  • 1. Moskovskij Lesotekhnicheskij Inst. (USSR)

Description

Experimental results for investigating the processes of rotating and heating of a heavy-ionized plasma of steady-state pulsed discharge with high electron concentraton (nsub(e) <=5x1015 cm -3) are given. Plasma is rotating in crossing ExH fields. The main method for observation was photoelectrical registration of spectral lines with time resolution. The experiments, carried out with the use of different regimes, gases and mixtures, show that the main mechanism of separation is centrifugal. The parameter, determining separation effectiveness, is calculated according to the results measuring rotating velocities and the plasma temperature; the possibility of parameter increasing is shown, when a light component being added
