Amoeba in UO2
Description
Recently the results of the low temperature irradiation HFR 900 made it necessary to reconfirm the low temperature side of the amoeba law. To be able to estimate the gradients in particles with gaps a program was written which was described in DPTN 764. (Calculation of temperature fine structure in coated particles). If one plots the results in DPTN 742 (chemical particle endurance in HTGR coated particle fuel) into the amoeba plot using the ''loose particle rule'' the agreement one has to admit is very poor. Using results from DPTN 765 for the gradient created internally much better agreement with all the other data can be found. Table 1 shows all the input parameter and the parameters X and Y for the least square fit. It also gives the results and positions of fit and confidence limits. Fig. 1 shows the position of the HFR 900 amoeba data. (author)
